When it comes to learning to drive, not all areas are equal. Some students have things easier with quieter, rural roads—and some have to cope with the chaotic traffic of the inner city. The latter is certainly the case for learners in Tower Hamlets, who will soon experience the reality of taking to the road in an area adjacent to the City of London. That’s why it’s important to turn to a driving school with a strong track record of helping learners to ditch their L plates and get on the road for good. Enter PassMeFast. Read on to learn everything you need to know about our semi-intensive and intensive driving courses in Tower Hamlets.

Taking an intensive driving course should mean getting on the road well ahead of the usual waiting times. What it shouldn’t mean, however, is having to book one week’s holiday just to take any lessons—and then, having crammed everything into a 5 day timeframe, being left languishing for weeks before finally being allowed to take your test. Other intensive driving schools may think that’s acceptable—but not us at PassMeFast. With us, you’re in control.
PassMeFast has our own way of doing things. Unlike other companies, you have a choice of nine different courses, ranging from five hours up to forty-eight.
Once your test appointment is in place, we’ll assign you one of our instructors, all of whom have been approved by the DVSA. Patient and experienced, they’ll help even the most anxious driver to feel positive and self-assured behind the wheel.
Let’s get the facts out of the way here: contrary to popular belief, an automatic car is not necessarily easier to drive than a manual. You’ll still need to display keen observational skills and good judgement while behind the wheel. Don’t simply choose an auto hoping for a guaranteed pass—you won’t get one!
If, however, you’re experiencing some difficulties in a couple of key areas distinct to manual cars—notably gear changes and clutch control—then choosing to take an automatic course is a sound decision.
PassMeFast offers all of its courses in both transmissions. So, whether you’re opting for the classic manual or the increasingly popular automatic, we can help you get on the road.
Lessons out of the way, it’ll soon be time for your practical test. With the confidence you’ll have gained throughout your course, you’ll feel more than prepared. This gives you every chance in the world of walking away with those magic words on your lips: “I’ve passed!”

Given the very busy conditions on Tower Hamlets’ roads, it’s understandable that the DVSA haven’t placed a practical test centre here. Your test will, therefore, take place outside of Tower Hamlets, with your instructor picking you up from your home address and taking you to your test centre of choice. As the crow flies, the closest test centre for most learners here is at Hither Green. This does, however, require crossing the Thames. If you’d rather stick to the north side of the river, your best option will be Barking (Tanner Street).
Did you know that our courses are designed to give you the best chance of passing. Lessons are scheduled just ahead of your test, keeping learning fresh.

While there may not be a practical test centre here in Tower Hamlets, there is a theory test centre. The Mile End test centre, roughly in the middle of the borough, is a 10-minute walk from the DLR station at Westferry, and can also be reached from the mainline railway station at Limehouse. To help prepare, take a look at our guide to passing the hazard perception section of your test.
PassMeTheory is an online theory revision session, where we go over the most difficult areas of the test. 9 out of 10 people said they felt more confident about their test after their session.
Don’t worry if you’ve not passed your theory test yet—you’re still eligible to book a PassMeFast course. Please note, however, that you’ll need to pass your theory test before you can book a practical. For this reason, it’s important to do this as soon as possible. If you’d like us to arrange your theory test for you, simply add it onto your booking.

Lying in close proximity to the City of London, some of the UK’s major A roads, including the A11, A12 and A13, all run through Tower Hamlets. As a result, there are a few problem spots for drivers around the borough—most notably the notorious Bow Interchange. It’s also possible to cross both over and under the Thames from Tower Hamlets, either via the Tower Bridge, Blackwall Tunnel, or Rotherhithe Tunnel. (If travelling through a tunnel, be aware that minimum speed limits may apply.)
Tower Hamlets isn’t all dual carriageways and river crossings, though. Its residential areas bring their own set of challenges, including making judgements on priority on narrow, car-lined estates. You’ll also use these areas to practise manoeuvres, such as parallel parking and pulling up on the right. Throughout your lessons, you’ll build up this wide range of skills, ensuring that you’re capable of confidently hitting the road solo once you’ve passed.
This diverse corner of the East End forms just one part of the broader PassMeFast coverage area, which extends across the UK. Of the many areas where our intensive driving courses are offered, you can see a handful in the list below.
Getting your licence shouldn’t take months—and, with PassMeFast, it doesn’t have to. Book your course today, and your new licence could be just weeks away. Call us on 0333 123 4949 to book, or head to our booking form online.
